Alphabet Cipher Questions & Answers

How does Chinese 9-Stroke Gematria work?
In Chinese 9-Stroke numerology, every Hanzi character's numerical value is calculated strictly as Stroke Count × 9. For example, 中 (China/Center) has 4 strokes, yielding 4 × 9 = 36. 國 (Nation) has 11 strokes, yielding 11 × 9 = 99. The project database contains verified stroke counts for 28,056 Unicode characters.
What is Greek Isopsephy?
Isopsephy (from the Greek isos meaning "equal" and psephos meaning "pebble") is the ancient practice of adding up the numerical values of Greek letters. In classical Greek, Alpha (Α/α) equals 1, Iota (Ι/ι) equals 10, Rho (Ρ/ρ) equals 100, and Omega (Ω/ω) equals 800. Uppercase and lowercase forms share identical values.
How are Hebrew final letters (Sofit) treated?
Standard Hebrew gematria (Mispar Hechrachi) values the 22 letters from Alef (1) through Tav (400). The 5 final letters (Khaf Sofit ך, Mem Sofit ם, Nun Sofit ן, Pe Sofit ף, Tsadi Sofit ץ) retain their standard letter base values (20, 40, 50, 80, 90) in standard mode.
Why does the Tamil pulli count as −1?
In Tamil script numerology, the dot (pulli) suppresses the inherent vowel sound of a consonant. To reflect this subtraction of vocalic energy, the cipher assigns −1 to the pulli dot mark, aligning with traditional South Asian phonetic numerological treatises.
